Collecting Positive Relationships and Great Experiences

My theme for the month of June is rest. Yet, this past week was anything but restful (more on that in the Things You Might Find Interesting section below). However, even in the busiest of weeks, there is an opportunity to find restful thoughts. This week's restful thought is about abstaining from even picking up things that will become clutter.
I've started going in person to a church here in the area. While my immune system was weak during chemo we watched church online from this church a couple of times and I really liked the pastor and the music, mostly because their organ is tucked so far back in a corner, I'm not sure it even works - which I'm totally fine with. On the church music scale I need something in the middle between organ dirge and rock concert. This church strikes a nice balance.
This was my second time going in person so I decided it was time to get their weekly newsletter which means you have to go to the welcome desk to get on their email list. The nice man at the desk offered me a free mug and I declined politely. He was, as people almost always are, a bit taken aback. I simply explained that I already had plenty of mugs and didn't need another one. The mug would simply have ended up in the donation box at our house in short order.
How does this connect to my not so restful week? I realized how many wonderful experiences and deepened connections in relationships that are important to me that I did gather this past week. Gayle and my sister Susie were there to see my ring the bell after my final radiation treatment. Gayle and I went to the US Swimming Trials on Wednesday. I scheduled lunches and coffees with friends in the coming week. We did an escape room and Melting Pot dinner with friends on Friday evening. I made plans to visit the fam later this week to see some of the 4-H projects by the littles. I'm going on an outing with friends this coming Friday just because. These are the things I choose to collect now - positive relationships and great experiences. These energize my soul, even when my body is weary.
How do you connect to rest in unusual ways? What great experiences have you collected recently?

Forgive my dorky little clap at the end!
THE SWIM TRIALS!!!!: As I mentioned last week, we got the chance to go to the USA Swimming Trials in downtown Indianapolis this past week. We went on Wednesday so we had a part in a new world record for attendance at a swimming event. (I think they broke that record again over the weekend but haven’t seen that confirmed.) The event was incredible. We saw so many of my favorites swim as well as rising stars. Here is a little video highlight reel of our day. Plus, we used free time in between sessions to catch Inside Out 2 at Circle Center mall which was just lovely!

Get cash back at the pump
I’ve been using Upside for well over a year now to get cash back at the pump at occasionally at restaurants and on groceries. With upside, you can also see where gas is cheapest which, especially right now, is handy. To get started using Upside, download the app (links below) and sign up for an account. If you’re so inclined, you can enter my referral code: KARA3995. Then, join me in getting cash back. I’ve earned about $50 in six months through nothing more than a check in when I get gas. I don’t drive much anymore though so I know folks who have earned much more since they fill up their tank far more often than I do.
