Congratulations Graduates!
Another busy weekend - but a wonderful one!
Two of my nephews, Andrew and Taylor, graduated from high school this weekend. Andrew (pictured above delivering his valedictory address) graduated on Saturday from Hagerstown High School and Taylor graduated on Sunday from Centerville High School. Taylor will be going to Sinclair Community College in the fall to study automotive repair. He has been an outstanding student in the vocational program and the car dealership where he works is supporting him in continuing his education. Andrew, our first valedictorian (his mom and I were both salutatorians), will start at IU's Kelley School of Business in the fall on a direct-admit program with hefty scholarship dollars attached to it. Not quite what might be termed a full ride, but he won't have much, if any, college loan debt when he graduates. We are incredibly proud of both boys.
Andrew gets his diploma from his Dad, a member of the school board.
It has been and will continue to be a big year for celebrations for us. Ashley turned 21, Amanda graduated from Purdue and will get married later this year, Ashley also finished her third year of her Pharmacy doctorate program so received her "coat" in a ceremony in May, and Andrew and Taylor graduated from high school and will start College. Aaron continues to excel at University of Northern Ohio and is considering a bachelor's program and Dustin, the youngest of my nieces/nephews, is doing well in high school. One of the things that strikes me about our family is the fact that we all turn out for all of these celebrations. Ashley spent the day of her 21st with family, we all gathered in the gym for Andrew's graduation, we continued the celebrations for both Taylor and Andrew in back yards and church fellowship halls...we are a family that goes through all of the ups and downs together and it's always been that way. If it takes a village to raise a child, my six nieces and nephews have no question about who is in that village for them and how much they are loved.
Since we had celebrations this weekend, I was at the farm on Friday and Saturday. Got several fun pictures of the pups as well as a good sunset shot. I'm heading out again for a few days on a getaway vacation so posting may not be as regular for a few days.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and that you have a good week!

Took several photos of the sunset - I liked this one the best.
