Happy 1-11-11
First of all, I love logging in at the end of a day and seeing that I have new followers and new comments. Thanks to all of you that are reading my blog and walking on this journey with me. I'm so glad you're here.
The Digital Photography School theme for this week is Breakfast. Then yesterday I read Ali Edwards' sweet blog post about her weekend and was inspired by the pictures in the post. Seemed like everything was telling me to take a picture of my breakfast so I decided to capture this simple moment of my every day. About a year ago I discovered Kashi Heart to Heart Warm Cinnamon cereal - it's delish! I love the little hearts in the cereal. They make me smile every morning - and making me smile in the morning is a pretty significant accomplishment. I've had my "nifty-fifty" 50 mm lens on my camera since just after Christmas but I put my "big" lens back on a couple of days ago and I'm still getting used to it again. I snapped about ten pictures of the cereal but ended up using the first one I took. Still not completely satisfied with it. Will have to try again another day.
As forecast, we got snow today. My normally twenty-five minute commute took about forty-five this morning, but otherwise things in the city didn't seem too bad. I was trying to figure out how to capture how much snow we got and didn't want to do the typical ruler in the snow so I decided to go with this shot. Lindsay was more than happy to have me come outside and play fetch with her for a while. I wish I was as undaunted by the cold, snow, wet, ..., whatever when it comes to exercise. My dog could care less! There were several accidents on the interstates to the north and south so if you're in a part of the country suffering through snow right now I hope you're warm and safe.
I'll see you tomorrow!
