Hummingbird Stalking
We had a great weekend at the Farm, enjoying the Labor Day holiday. Lindsay played a LOT of ball with Grandpa and Sammy. I even accomplished making this chocolate chip cookie dip (that is gluten free and made with no extra sugar!)

It was really good, although I didn't put mine in such a pretty glass! The recipe uses dates and I had some extra dates to use up so I made an orange-spice-date bread that is loosely based on this recipe from Ina Garten.
We had a great time converting old family photos from slides to digital.
However, one of the biggest highlights of the weekend was doing a little hummingbird stalking. Earlier this year, dad installed a hummingbird feeder in front of the window of the breezeway. They've enjoyed it immensely. Many, many mornings or evenings when I'm talking with one or the other of them on the phone they talk about seeing the hummingbirds.
This weekend I got to see them too - and capture a few photos.
On the first evening, I shot in program mode and got several photos like this.
On the second evening, I was determined to shoot in manual mode and dial in settings a little more. I am even more thrilled with these results.
On the final morning of my visit, I grabbed these last few shots...again in manual mode.
I hope you enjoyed your Labor Day Weekend. Did you grab your camera and snap any shots?
