You say goodbye, I say hello [Found Poetry]

The Poem
deliberately outrageous intensity of feeling
you've missed something sitting there with a little baby
the woman distracted her from her indignation
around the corner
looking for the small girl
through the doorway
a long narrow room
a shaft of sunlight and the noise of drums
bright blankets, and feathers in black hair
the steady persistence of the drums
shutting her eyes she abandoned herself to their soft repeated thunder

Reflections
After my self-declared skip day yesterday, today is a much different story. I think this is the page I turn to most frequently in Brave New World. I wanted to use it for something all along. I don't know that it necessarily fits the prompt but the prompt makes me think of searching and longing which is what I feel like the poem describes.
I had nearly three hours of unscheduled time on my calendar today. That almost NEVER happens during the workday. It's an odd feeling to have a bit of time to breathe and think during the work day. It was so incredibly productive.
On the "home front" I'm having to work my way through all the excuses I'm making for not getting things done around the house. The excuses are fine because we are all doing the very best we can in this bizarre situation. Just because I'm willing to excuse myself from accomplishing things, I still need to be honest about it.
How are you handling these repetitive days?
